As a result of a partnership between BNDES and Petrobras, this solution fills an important gap in the sector of a firm demand for high-integrity carbon credits. By public auctions, Petrobras will acquire carbon credits and the winners of the bidding may count on unique resources from BNDES, such as the Climate Fund - Native Forests.

The initiative creates models for public and long-term contracts and explains to the sector the formation of carbon pricing, ensuring legal security and greater appeal for investors and strengthening confidence in the voluntary carbon market. Its collaborative construction resulted in solid instruments that usher in a new spring in the forest restoration economy in Brazil.
